Monday, December 29, 2008. Christmas in Tierra del Fuego. I finally arrived in punta arenas on december the 23rd. it was a sunny day but with a chilly breeze, sort of an irishy feeling to it actually. . The temperature change from santiagos 30 degrees to punta arenas 14 degrees takes some adjustment. the wind blows really strong here. Then on the 24th i took a bus which crossed the magellan straight to tierra del fuego and carried on to cerro sombrero. The christmas rush in cerro sombrero. Is there anyth...

Sunday, August 31, 2008. Baños: the Chiva bus. Took the "Chiva" (bus) up to the gigantic volcano which towers over Baños to see lava and sparks with are apparently constantly coming out. as usual accompanied by thumping reggaeton music the whole way which induces a real party atmosphere. When we got there it was so dark that i couldnt even tell where the volcano was! Saturday, August 30, 2008. Partied late last night. whos idea was it to drink shots? Closer look at the waterfall. I had made up my mind that i was going to medellin and had even booked the ticket before heading out to taganga for another roasting in the sun. but when i saw the festive atmosphere in taganga i soon realised this was not the time to leave. Lady is apopular name in colombia, sometimes spelt leidy, and apparently mateo (as i am called here) is a popular name for a dog. have met a lot of people who told me they have dogs called mateo.
