Matthew Swern – My home on the internet
My home on the internet. Where do you live? It’s a simple question to answer. It’s where you spend the most time. It’s where you keep most of your stuff. It’s the mailing address where you get your jury duty summons (at least the ones you have to try a bit harder to get out of). But where do you live… on the Internet? This is where I’m choosing to live right now. I may choose to move back to one of my other digital homes tomorrow or next week or next year but for now this is it.

The increasingly blurred line between tech, political news. Posted on February 9th, 2013 in Journalism. For this week straddled that increasingly blurred line between technology and politics, with two of the news stories that had President Obama as the focus. Reporting on the Twitter hack. The next day, I covered a more positive POTUS-related hacking story: The White House is holding a hackathon in Washington, DC. The fact that Microsoft’s new operating system is able to keep up with the old one is...
Our Family Adventure
We decided this week to stop renting out our beach house as a vacation rental and to rent it long-term. This is a really big change for us, since this is our ninth summer renting our place as a vacation rental. I really love this view. We've really enjoyed being vacation rental owners and sharing our home with our guests. And with the exception of a few glitches here and there and one really tough summer a few years back, it's gone quite well for us. The pleasant winters here in Arizona and then. Money-w...
