Matt's Climbing Blog: May 2015
http://mattwilderclimbing.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Beautiful streets of Albarracin. Albarracin is an ancient fortified city in the mountains half way between Madrid and Valencia. The old stone walls, narrow streets, and complete disrespect for any Euclidean order in the layout of the buildings results in a unique, beautiful base camp for a bouldering trip. We were able to find a great apartment just outside of the city and only a 10 minute ride to the boulders. Sandy working a 7a with mean mantel. Me flashing Brainstorm 7b. Aretes h...
Matt's Climbing Blog: One's Enough
http://mattwilderclimbing.blogspot.com/2013/12/ones-enough.html
Sunday, December 15, 2013. I hiked down the hill and rallied the rest of my crew with a good collection of pads. With everything set up, I pulled onto the wall, executed the crux just as planned and cruised to the mantel. Suppressing some rising jitters, I committed to the technical highstep and rockover. All went smoothly. I was on top and had climbed this amazingly beautiful and scary classic. I was super psyched. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Adjustable Toddler Bouldering Wall - A Tutorial.

Monday, December 17, 2012. So I'm planning a trip to the New River Gorge for this spring and I just came across this amazing site that I felt I had to share. I may be a data geek and that could be why I like this site so much, but it has so much good info! I watched this movie,...

Minnesotan Skin: February 2009
http://minnesotaskin.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 10, 2009. Between Frost and Melt Water. On a beautiful saturday @ 36 some degrees, Chris(Hirsch), Eric, Neil, Trinh and I went, um, sightseeing I guess. We had aspirations to climb on some rock that is only workable when the St. Croix river is frozen. We started in Franconia, just down stream from Taylors Falls. Damn I want to buy that Scandinavian Chalete! Josh Helke is supposedly the first ascender of the problem that works from the back of the cave straight out the edge of the roof.

Once, a long, long time ago.last Labor Day weekend.in a state park.in Wisconsin.named after a Governor.whos name was Dodge.and there was sandstone.Yes, there was sandstone. We started out on the B2 bluff, through an occupied and unfriendly campsite, (I recommend estabishing a path NOT through the campsite, possibly left of the outhouse.). This is Sandstone Violence that can be seen with less sun/shade contrast on Neil's blog.
Outdoor Habit: ...and projects completed

Friday, February 25, 2011. Video and Edit by Paul Evans, thanks Paul! After the long hike back to the car ( 10 feet), we parked by the Gill Boulder and walked down to the Water Rock to give Resonated some more tries. I had to try some slightly altered topout beta since my hamstring is still not great after my last encounter. I guess that's what it's like to be "in the zone". What a great feeling and one of my favorite problems ever! Posted by Doug Lipinski. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Wednesday, July 29, 2009. I'm moving to a new apartment this week (today actually) so real updates will resume once I have more than 10 minutes to sit down at a computer. I haven't had anytime to get outside during the past four or five days except for a (very) short run on Sunday. My knee is starting to feel better. But still not great. Hopefully it will keep improving. For now, you might want to check out ClimbingNarc. Posted by Doug Lipinski. Links to this post. Saturday, July 25, 2009. Speaking of Ja...

Thursday, August 7, 2008. Kris and Pi had been throwing the idea around about adding a cave to one side of the wall.Kris put it together in under a week, with less than 24 hours of time spent on it. And yet it's still over built and painfully fun! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Climber, ranter, dog lover. View my complete profile.

Wednesday, March 26, 2008. Death to Minnesota Winters! Every one here knows how this snow is getting pretty damn tiresome! The yard is just over 1/2 melted and tomorrow we get MORE SNOW? Well, to take everyone's mind off of it I'm posting an about interesting similarity I've noticed between my husband Kris and a particular muppet.take a look for yourself! Then Sam the Eagle. Kris isn't so patriotic though. Thursday, March 6, 2008. Real Boulders, Fer Realz! Build calluses, don't sand them off on plastic!

Thursday, May 22, 2008. I got to ride in Nic's new Yaris, much to the chagrin of Pi, who road in Chris Hirsch's Escort. You can fit 2 pads in a Yaris with the back seat up, and 4-5 with the back seats down. And we got 35 mpg going 75 the whole way. On a four hour drive in tandem, things can get silly. Fruit bombing one another's cars entertained us for the last two hours of the drive and had our faces aching from laughter. Here's my second video I've made today with iMovie.sweet. But I still, like always...
Minnesotan Skin: Back in Bishop Again
http://minnesotaskin.blogspot.com/2008/12/back-in-bishop-again.html
Monday, December 22, 2008. Back in Bishop Again. We started out on the Ironman, to try to start building skin and wake up the muscles. After we decided it was just too hot sitting under that highly reflective oblong rock slice, we walked down to the Tut boulder. Not sure of the separation of holds between Funky Tut and King Tut, we did some fun combination of both. I fell at the same spot again and again, just like last year. However, some new beta from Nic the next day made me get super optimistic!
