Built by Kamehameha the Great in 1790-1791 as luakini heiau, Puʻukoholā was the last major heiau built in Hawaiʻi and was dedicated to Kūkāʻilimoku. There are several trails at this National Historic Site and quite a bit of information in the Visitor’s Center, so give yourself several hours to explore. Posted in Ancient Sites.
