I have made them from 6mm birch ply in various sizes – the biggest about 15cm in length. Rather than paints it is best to stain the wood as this is less likely to come off or mark. These beaters could be made in any shape, e.g. animal paws, faces, vehicles, leaves, etc. You could also attach jingle bells. Click here to cancel reply.

Take old drums and tambourines, etc, and customise them with acrylic and emulsion paints. It does nothing for the sound but makes them more attractive for children to play with. It was made at a children’s play workshop earlier this month using materials from the wonderful recycling project at House of Objects, Rising Sun Park, Whitley Road, North Tyneside. Music workshops for children. MONSTERS v ALIENS – Shadow Puppets. Posted August 25th, 2014 by Maurice and filed in Uncategorized. These shadow puppets, and many others, were made and displayed at a holiday workshop in Malvern last week (17-24 Aug, 2014).
