Haitian Business Trip | the meadows family

January 25, 2013. We left on Friday afternoon with hopes of making it to our destination in time to play for a bit before dinner. We got there just in time to catch the sun falling into the Caribbean Sea. After some fun on the beach, we got cleaned up and headed to dinner. I’m not usually a fan of buffets, but this food was a-maz-ing. Saturday, Daniel had a meeting for the first half of the day while we played on the beach. 8220;Look, Mom, Sea Horses! When did our baby girl get so big? Fill in your detai...

Author Archives: meadows family. May 26, 2014. We became parents over 12 1/2 years ago and yesterday our family had it’s first broken bone (well, technically two bones) – and in a developing country, no less. I know this is common for many families and we are thankful that, up until now, we have been spared this injury. For those that are curious how it happened and also how we are doing now, I thought I’d write down the story and also give a little update. When he arrived, he checked out Jaxon and then ...

Day to Day: Laundry. February 27, 2014. Since moving to Haiti the act of doing laundry has taken many forms. For the first 6 months or so we had a traditional washing machine. It was slowly going out, getting stuck on a cycle for. While shopping I saw a few options for considerably less ($200-300), although they looked quite different than any washing machine I had ever seen. I went home to research them a bit. Turns out they were semi-automatic. I don’t have time for that. When not in use it is kept in ...

March 11, 2014. I’m a bit behind on sharing our monthly photos. I’m really not sure where the time has gone. January 1st seems like it happened many months ago. We started the New Year with a little swimming. And spent lots of time outside enjoying the great weather. Daniel taught the boys how to. How should I say it. Noises with their underarms. They loved it, of course. We started meeting again with our homeschool group once a week. It’s been nice to reconnect with friends. Day to Day: Laundry. Disempo...

March 16, 2014. We started the month of February with a visit from my parents. We spent lots of time at home – playing and catching up – and also showed them around town and took them to some of our favorite places. We had a great time and really enjoyed seeing them. I love these pictures of my dad and Cason (who is chewing sugar cane). After my parents left, we enjoyed some queso, which we hadn’t had in many,. And then right after that we jumped on the juicing bandwagon. Yup He needed help alright.
