武蔵野美術大学の造形学部基礎デザイン学科で教授を務める原研哉 はらけんや さんは 株式会社日本デザインセンター の代表取締役も務めるグラフィックデザイナー、で、 無印良品 のボードメンバーとしてご存知の方も多いでしょう。 ちなみに2001年に無印良品のチーフアドバイザーに就任した原研哉さん曰く、同社のイメージは シンプルというより空っぽ で、 水盤に桜の花びらを数枚浮かばせれば、満開の桜の樹の下のイメージになる。 RE DESIGN展 で 世界インダストリアルデザインビエンナーレ大賞 を受賞後は活動範囲を海外まで拡大し、今では世界規模で活動している日本を代表するデザイナーです。 2004年度サントリー学芸賞芸術部門授賞 や 全国カレンダー展内閣総理大臣賞 、 ニューヨークADC賞 に 世界インダストリアルデザインビエンナーレ大賞 インダストリアル グラフィック両部門 と実に様々な賞を受賞してきました。 また、原研哉さんの人脈は幅広く、北欧屈指のデザイン会社 コントラプンクト の代表取締役社長であるボー リンネマンさんもその１人で、デンマーク政府のロゴを手がけたデザイナーです。
