Mayfly Garden

Sunday, October 4, 2009. End of Summer Report. Two important additions were made to our garden. The scarecrow created by Hailey. And a shed created by Terrin Hughes of Sundog Designs. We enjoyed bountiful harvests in August. Huge and plentiful zucchini. Nasturtium flowers and leaves, and zucchini blossoms. And battered fried squash blossoms.YUM! More flowers for their beauty. But there was still more food to go around, so we gathered it up and sold it at Potato Days. Oh well, there's always next year!

Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Much has happened in the month of June. Early on, the rain continued to hamper the building of the beds in the West Plot, but eventually it let up and we were able to get 80% of the 2870 square foot area built and planted. The WEST PLOT contains:. Beets, Bok Choy, Broccoli, Carrot, Chard, Corn, Cucumber (3 varieties), Fennel, Lettuce, Mustard Greens, Okra, Radish, Spinach, and Zucchini.
