BumpaStuff: January 2007
http://bumpastuff.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 29, 2007. In case anyone noticed, I had posted the following photo showing Gianni with her baby bump.but had to remove it because she and David were afraid that her Puerto Rican family would get wind of the pregnancy before their trip and they wanted it to be a surprise. So now that David and Gianni are in Puerto Rico for a long week I am putting it back on the blog. Eli Hughes, David, Gianni and Darren (obviously, a witty, straight-faced, Eli made some snappy remark). See below the whole...

Thursday, November 30, 2006. Our great friend, Tom Solan (my ex-partner in the construction business, now living in Oregon) just arrived for a short visit. He came over to the house today with grand daughter, Valeria, and grandson, Javid. They just pigged out on the home-made tortillas and McKinney special Humos, plus a brown rice dish that Julie made. Even Javid liked both dishes! Javidy had a wild ride on our backyard swing, with Valeria giving him super high pushes:. Posted by Jere @ 2:10 PM. She was ...

Saturday, September 30, 2006. Here's an ancient picture of the same tree when we first planted it. You can scarcely see it, but it's between the original garden posts (bamboo) and the pile of dirt (which is where our house is now sitting! And just to the left of the post for the electric cables). Posted by Jere @ 8:07 AM. Friday, September 22, 2006. Testing video post to "Multiply". Some people just don't dare drive over it. Video of Hammock bridge. Turn on your sound button! Saturday, April 29, 2006. Tel Aviv to Haifa. We hung out in Tel Aviv until the appointed hour and took a nice evening train ride to Haifa, arriving at our hotel just after 9pm. (St. Charles Hospice located near the bottom of Ben Gurion St. which lines up perfectly with the terraces leading to the Shrine of the Bab). One of the most attentive nuns is in the doorway. Posted by Jere @ 8:43 AM. We had a cordial conversation. Posted by Jere @ 8:19 AM. Thursday, April 27, 2006. Dear friends and family. Meanwhi...

BumpaStuff: July 2006
http://bumpastuff.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 22, 2006. I caught these three Flycatchers and a green lizard on the stump outside the kitchen window. I had to quietly snap this through the screen because they are very wary of any movements and scatter fast. Below is a shot of our ripening avocados on the tree outside our bedroom window. They become mature all at once, it seems, so we have to give most of them away to friends so that they won't go bad. (Most of them have been picked already.). Tough life in the tropics, eh? Here's a pic...

Monday, August 28, 2006. For those of you who have never heard the word "Pupusa", it's a tortilla filled with cheeze and/or meat, and is a very popular meal in El Salvador. It's made its way to Costa Rica, apparently from a long time ago because Gianni used to come to this same restaurant "Pupuseria" with her grandparents when she was little. The last time I had a Pupusa was in the city of San Salvador cerca 1969! They're still the greatest! Posted by Jere @ 10:25 PM. Saturday, August 26, 2006. Which app...
