Follow along as I ride my Harley cross country. May 26, 2016. Tags: 343 Fire fighters. Run for the Wall. Day 9 Kickstands down in Lynchburg, VA. Cool and misty as we woke up this morning. We gathered our gear and covered it with plastic trash bags. We are a sight to see. We’re inspired to do so by one of our own. Did you know that Chicken Joe Connors was one of the twelve founders of the North Star Volunteer Fire Department in North Pole, Alaska? Or that he served as Assistant Fire Chief for many years?

Follow along as I ride my Harley cross country. Arriving DC: Day 10, 2015. May 22, 2015. Can you imagine all of us trying to be seated in a restaurant or lining up at the drive through? An evening of visiting with old friends, and making new ones as we all mingle in the lobby. More than one beer has been drunk. The stories come forth without hesitation now, we are in the zone. I walked up to someone with a faraway look in his eyes, and said Welcome Home. He nodded and reach for a hug. Leave one →. Follow...

Follow along as I ride my Harley cross country. May 20, 2015. Most of us are getting far too little sleep. Especially leadership. The Advance team is pulling out by the time I begin to load the gear on my bike. I am getting up at 4am averaging about four and a half hours of sleep a night so they must be getting up even earlier. The advance team is on site to group the riders together in their platoons each morning and after each fuel stop. Our next stop was Black Wolf Harley in Bristol (I can’t remember ...

Follow along as I ride my Harley cross country. May 18, 2015. Run for the Wall. Monroe to Meridian. May 18, 2015. Yesterday we followed the storm’s edge. Today we woke to more thunder and lightening with a steady rain that continued through the late afternoon. Charlie Mike and the spirit it embodies got us out of bed and out into the parking lot. The company strongly supports Vets with a hiring and promotion plan for returning Vets. If you know a Vet searching for work, have them check into it. I figure ...

Great day of riding, finally! | Jen's Ride
https://jensride.wordpress.com/2015/05/19/great-day-of-riding-finally
Follow along as I ride my Harley cross country. Great day of riding, finally! May 19, 2015. From here we wound our way to one of our favorite stops, Thunder at the Pig! For years, Chattanooga has been a challenge for us. Five o’clock traffic, and three major freeway transitions. In 2008 on this leg of our journey, the pack ran into a nasty hail storm. We still cringe when we think of it. Rolling Thunder, TN 2 served us dinner tonight, for the 15. When the pack pulls out in the morning and after every sto...

Follow along as I ride my Harley cross country. May 21, 2015. Lunch was at Montvale elementary with another amazing program. We left donations at both schools in excess of $3,500 combined. It is great to see the future of our country encouraging and uplifting those who’ve gone before. As we were lined up In front of the school for departure, I dropped Pearl in front of all those bikers and a television crew! Sure to be lots of teasing in my immediate future! From → Uncategorized. Follow along as I ride my Harley cross country. May 16, 2015. Day Four- Odessa to Grand Prairie May 16, 2015. A burden shared, is a burden lightened. As the miles roll out behind us we find our emotions rising. Things long buried are seeping up and out. A few days ago in Phoenix a Blue Star Mom brought me a box of handmade cards, with notes for Veterans written in them by local school children. She asked if I might share them with Vets as we cross our country. From → Uncategorized. Charlie Mike →. You ca...

Follow along as I ride my Harley cross country. At the Wall, May 23, 2015. May 23, 2015. Run for the Wall. In 2009, Stoney our Route Coordinator was flying home from a business trip, anxious to begin his vacation and Run For The Wall. The flight attendant noticed he was wearing an MIA bracelet and asked him about it. She then told Stoney she had worn one with her brother’s name on it for twenty one years. He was a helicopter pilot and had been shot down on the second of December 1969. One of the honors g...

Follow along as I ride my Harley cross country. May 17, 2015. When you know who you are; when your mission is clear and you. Burn with the inner fire of unbreakable will; no cold can touch your heart;. No deluge can dampen your purpose. You know that you are alive. Chief Seattle. The roads were wet, but the rain continued to stay ahead of us. Longview is one of my favorite stops, among the friendlies are my own family. My Dad, Sister, and great neice all came out to support our Mission. They ...Too fast,...
