My journey in Mbarara, Uganda

My journey in Mbarara, Uganda. Wednesday, August 4, 2010. The end of an experience. I've returned for what might be the last entry of my Mbarara blog. I’ve actually started to realize I'm going to miss a lot of things; the gorgeous views of rolling, fertile hills, the brilliantly sunny sky that woke me almost every single day, the amazingly cheap price of beer and local, organic foods, the beautiful children running up to say “how are you? Thursday, July 15, 2010. Wednesday, June 30, 2010. We spent Frida...

My journey in Mbarara, Uganda: Disillusionment

http://mbarara2010.blogspot.com/2010/07/disillusionment.html

My journey in Mbarara, Uganda. Thursday, July 15, 2010. I’m just annoyed with the school at the moment. Yes, technically, we’re OK – but what if we weren’t? Show some courtesy for your students and practice what you preach, please. End of rant – I will survive. I have 20 more days here and I believe I’m ready to come home now. Though I do have a week in Europe before that happens. I should see a doctor there; in both America and Uganda, I’m screwed for different reasons. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

My journey in Mbarara, Uganda: The last 5 weeks

http://mbarara2010.blogspot.com/2010/06/last-5-weeks.html

My journey in Mbarara, Uganda. Wednesday, June 30, 2010. The last 5 weeks. 8211; and round-trip is $490. The bus option is affordable but takes 36 hours – which doesn’t mesh well with work and would likely be one hellish journey. July 8, 2010 at 9:00 AM. Greg - great book suggestions. And, I hadnt realized from talking to you that Uganda experienced such a significant drop in HIV rates relative to other African nations. What are Epsteins insights as to why this is? My journey in Mbarara, Uganda. Thursday, May 27, 2010. I guess I should finally explain more of what my research project is about (I will keep it brief! Making a new database (AHHHH! We actually get a little mini-vacation before all of this hard work begins. We’re leaving tomorrow for a 2-day adventure at Queen Elizabeth National Park – Uganda’s largest. Hoping to see lots of animals and beautiful sights. Monday, May 24, 2010. Thursday, May 20, 2010. Obstacles and overcoming them. We finally found a good...

Kyan Pepper: London Calling

http://kyanpepper.blogspot.com/2010/08/london-calling.html

Monday, 2 August 2010. After six hours of desperately wanting to fall asleep but to no avail, my plane touched ground at Heathrow the morning of July 31st. Despite vowing to myself that I would immediately check into my hostel and catch up on the sleep I lost the previous night panicking about what to pack, I’m flooded with too much excitement and familiarity to follow through with that. The concept that I’m traveling doesn’t typically hit me until I’m very near my destination. I've ended up at a great h...

Kyan Pepper: August 2010

Saturday, 14 August 2010. Why every place can't tolerate homosexuality like this is astounding to me - not that it's something that should be tolerated, rather welcomed with open arms. Next year, I hope to return to Brighton but if it's the same as this year and competing with Amsterdam Pride, I'll have to return on a weekend that's not coupled with a gay parade. as I think I need to experience Amsterdam's pride in 2011. This has dragged on but I hope you share my joy and love for Amsterdam whether or no...

Kyan Pepper: Utopian Amsterdam

Saturday, 14 August 2010. I'll give an update on my visit to BedZED later - the only visit I made to any place having to do with my "sustainable building design research" excuse for a Euro trip. But first I'll continue to share my journeys and perceptions of the amazing places I'm falling in love with. A strain known as "New York Diesel." Fun stuff followed by more fun stuff. followed by copious amounts of imbibing copious amounts of booze (surprise! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Unbutton your pant...

Thursday, June 4, 2009. Mom, Dad, and Leah took a less exciting, but still enjoyable boat ride to see the Source of the Nile River. They had a great time and were happy to see that we had survived. For those of you in the Boston area, I will see you soon. Now it is off to enjoy my last two weeks. Monday, May 18, 2009. Kigali and Soccer Match. It was a great weekend and Max ended up coming up to visit because of work later in that week. It was good to catch up with him and see how different everything...
