Weiss Lake / Alabama Scenic River Trail. Up Friday to fresh coffee and breakfast, had our trip talk and were on our way. We were broken into two groups, experienced and novice. There were quite a few dead fish so we talked with a local and were told there had been a fish kill due to the freeze, that the fish really froze and people were collecting the fish the morning after the freeze. Steve built his Diva 2 tandem kayak during his recovery from a kidney transplant operation where he donated to his son, John. The kayak was completed in September 2007, is stitch and glue construction, and is 18' 6" long. Steve and his wife, Gina paddle together when they get a chance in their busy retired life in Daphne. Look for us to get more active this coming spring.

Saturday, November 29, 2008. 1 Box Jiffy Cornbread Mix. 1 Can red kidney beans (drained). 1 Can whole kernel corn (drained). 1 Cup chopped tomatoes. 1 Cup chopped green peper. 2 bunches green onions (chopped). 1 lb bacon (fried crisp and crumbled) (we used soy bacon). Bake cornbread-substitute buttermilk for regular milk. Let cool and crumble to cover bottom of pan. Layer the rest. Mix dressing and pour on top:. 2 Tbs vegetable oil.
