Wednesday, March 2, 2011. Coramandel to Whangeri.at last at Northland! Wednesday, March 2,2011. A big driving day today.at least by New Zealand's standards! It took us about 4&1/2 hrs to get here and we had to drive through Auckland. The GPS took us right through the heart of town until we realized that we had programmed it to go the shortest way not the fastest. So reprogrammed and onto the motorway and off we went. Monday, March 7, 2011. Our Last Day in New Zealand! Monday, March 7,2011. Blue sky, brilliant sunshine, a sea breeze was the order of our last day as it has been for every day here except 2. It doesn't get better than that! We were up and going early as we booked a tour of Auckland City and Kelly Tarlton's Antarctic Adventure- - thanks so much toTerry and Martin, Mike and Martha! Sunday, March 6, 2011. Sunday, March 6,2011. Pouring rain this am when we left our beach hideaway but still a lovely place and we had a great time. We also went to the Kauri Museum and were amazed at the beautiful examples of kauri furniture and a vast collection of kauri gum which has many uses but has become quite prized as beautiful amber stones in jewellery. Tomorrow is our last day in NZ and it will be busy but we are so sad to be leaving and would love to return some day. A Quiet Day at the Beach.
