A Bryson in China. Thursday, April 21, 2011. A Bryson to Atlanta! Several friends have called or sent notes asking:. How hot is it in Vietnam? Well, I usually answer: Hot, as far as I know. At least, that is what my friends in Ho Chi Minh City tell me. I know many of you thought I had gone to Vietnam in March to work there for three months. Well, sorry, I haven’t updated the fact, that I never made it to the Mekong Delta area. I opted to stay and take my chance on the new opportunity. And I got it! And I...

A Bryson in China: Featured on Storyline Project
http://abrysoninchina.blogspot.com/2011/07/featured-on-storyline-project.html
A Bryson in China. Thursday, July 28, 2011. Featured on Storyline Project. Before I left Winston-Salem, I was coaxed into telling my story about my life through kidney issues and transplant. The city started a project of capturing stories of residents a few years ago. They asked me to tell about my finding out about kidney disease through my health issues and getting the kidney. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the short version. Posted by A Bryson (formerly) in China @ 9:39 AM. View my complete profile.

A Bryson in China: Merry Christmas 2010
http://abrysoninchina.blogspot.com/2010/12/merry-christmas-2010.html
A Bryson in China. Monday, December 20, 2010. Remember that simple Corona beer Christmas commercial of the palm trees across the water on some secluded beachfront; with the whistling of Oh Christmas Tree in the background; and then comes the lighting of one lone palm among the five in the row? It’s an epic commercial from years ago. But I did see one replay of it the other night. A sample can be seen on YouTube by clicking here. We had no idea where we were headed. The night was magical too. Posted by A ...

Posted by A Bryson (formerly) in China @ 7:26 PM. And such incredible taste! No Greek gods and windmills here. Then making my way outside, Caddie #379 quickly grabbed my bag and directed me to a golf cart! Yes, a golf cart! No long walk to the hills ahead! I soon found out Caddie #379 was named something akin...

A Bryson in China: June 2005
http://abrysoninchina.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
A Bryson in China. Thursday, June 30, 2005. Wal Mart of Dongguan. I made the trek! In need of more things for my new apartment, I was able to talk my driver (an exercise in itself, since he doesn’t speak English, and my Chinese is pathetic! Into a stop the other night to assist my needs. I convinced him to try Wal Mart the Supercenter of Dongguan. Well, it was similar and different than any other Wal Mart I had ever been in. No big gray box here. First, I bet there were only 30 parking spaces. On many ai...

http://abrysoninchina.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
A Bryson in China. Tuesday, February 28, 2006. Nothing like a day on the golf course to brighten the day! Friday was really bright. Okay, not sunshine bright. But you know, in America, there always seems to be some kind of golf outing. There is a best ball tournament somewhere nearly every weekend. Well, here in China, there may be tournaments, but who knows. I can’t read the postings at the golf clubs! I can’t read any of these Chinese symbols. At 11:00, our group of about 20 piled into a bus for a trip...

A Bryson in China: Milestone Almost Missed
http://abrysoninchina.blogspot.com/2011/01/milestone-almost-missed.html
A Bryson in China. Friday, January 14, 2011. I almost forgot a major milestone! The week here in the US has been filled with sad news from Arizona, a football championship, and a major winter storm in the South and East. I’ve been stuck right in the middle of that storm. I finally got out of my home last night for the first time in three days. We didn’t get that much snow here in my area of North Carolina. But nearby they got up to 8 or 9 inches. To say the least, those events have occupied most minds.
