Malcolm McCambridge opened his own shop in Ranelagh, Dublin in 1945 having moved from Shop Street in Galway in the West of Ireland. The latter still thrives in family hands to this day. In the early 50’s, his son John joined the business at the age of 14 and subsequently took control in the early 60’s. Initially selling products sourced from around the world, he gradually developed a range of local produce made with the help of a team located in the kitchen just behind the store.
