Bolivians’ LOVE holidays. There’s practically a holiday every week where the whole city gets shut down and everyone has no choice but to sleep in and be lazy. Everyone, that is, except Jim and me. The noises and noisiness of our daily life take up so much of our energy and focus, it’s long overdue to share/complain about them. So the radio and banging from the chop shop from 7AM to 10PM are a baseline to start from. These are noises we knew we were getting into, and there is no one to blame but ourselves for being in such close proximity to these noises. For our first 6 months here, that was fine. The idea of actually taking a dog out for exercise, take a poop, or being outside does not exist here.

Vacation to the USA. We’ve been back in Bolivia for less than a week now and we’re already ready for another vacation. After two days of being in transit, we finally made it to Cochabamba. The airline desk agents were so surprised and enamored with the cats that we didn’t get charged for any of our extra/overweight bags. We looked like a couple of refugees dragging all of our worldly goods through the airport.
