Algebra Teacher - Online: Calculus: The Musical
http://algebrateacher-online.blogspot.com/2011/12/calculus-musical.html
Tuesday, December 6, 2011. I attended "Calculus: The Musical" with my friend, Kari Johnson. She is a friend from high school and a math teacher in St. Paul. The show was packed with a room full of math geeks (so, we fit in perfectly). The songs were creative and certainly kept us smiling - it was actually a pretty decent review of some big concepts. Here's your chance to listen to one of the songs below:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Kip, Sonja, Gus, Johan and Anja. View my complete profile.

Algebra Teacher - Online: Perplexity
http://algebrateacher-online.blogspot.com/2012/05/perplexity.html
Wednesday, May 9, 2012. Was the keynote speaker at the MCTM conference. He challenged us to use technology to engage students with perplexing questions. Check out the video he used in the workshop that followed his keynote talk. What questions do you want answered about this video? Finding the answer to your question may involve some math, right? I would love to incorporate this type of problem into my online courses. A goal for next year anyway is to embed some perplexity into my courses.

Algebra Teacher - Online: A Better Calculator
http://algebrateacher-online.blogspot.com/2012/01/better-calculator.html
Monday, January 30, 2012. As I read through my Twitter feed the other day, I noticed some math folks promoting a new online graphing calculator. I played around with it on my laptop and iPad and was pretty impressed. I liked the colored graphs and shading as well as the sliders that allowed you to change variables. Algebra Teacher - Online: Math Counts Competition
http://algebrateacher-online.blogspot.com/2012/02/math-counts-competition.html
Sunday, February 12, 2012. Eighth grade online students from Marcy Open attended the MathCounts competition last Friday. Students took individual tests and a group test. They also participated in a speed round where correct results were rewarded with candy! No one placed this year, but hopefully it was a fun morning for all. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
