A historic railway-junction turned wasteland, the Gleisdreieck area has now become a modern city park with unique character and features. With the eastern side of the park opened in 2011, the western park was in need of a variety of environmental graphics to compliment it. Large-scale typography and arrows were applied to entrances and a large walkway joining the two sides of the park.

The Gutters are Filled with Gold. Working jointly as a group of designers, architects, and urban sociologists, ‘The Gutters are Filled with Gold’ visualises the practices of poor Berliners trying to make ends meet. It examines the coping strategies of these people collecting refundable bottles in public spaces, the regulations of their activities, and how they fit together within a larger context of increasing inequality. VoteLocal is a simple online tool designed to empower young New Zealanders to become active civic participants. It matches users' personal values with mayoral candidates, and engages them in issues that affect their communities. As a user plays VoteLocal they generate a custom city in the recognisable guise of their own city. Their city avatar can be shared through social media, encouraging further peer- to-peer participation and engagement. Designed at Massey University, Wellington.
