My good friend and fellow war artist, Richard Johnson, is back in Afghanistan doing war art for Canada's National Post newspaper. I was going to travel with him, but my wife Janis got word she'll be deploying to Afghanistan. Her mobilization starts in early May, so my trip had to take a back seat. Thursday, April 23, 2015. We left the hospital around 9 PM and headed home. I don't know what the next days will hold for her. I don't know how the neck fusion will be on her mobility. Today I may head back to WF to do hospital duty and sit with her. Hopefully we will find out what comes next. I worry about myself now. Ive been falling down and injuring myself, but so far havent broken anything except skin. Ive told my doctor Id rather have the arthritis, as the drugs are going to kill me. Really we feel...

Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Here is a photo taken at the hospital. Sara and the new baby did not come out. I'm sure they needed their rest. The new baby, whom I think I will call Jet, is doing great. I managed to get in some grandma time while babysitting. I just happened to be wearing a brown striped shirt that matched Jet's brown stripes. He is very cuddly. I hear ya. The new one is adorable! On Monday they moved her to a physical therapy hospital. She will be there for a couple of weeks gaining strength and learning to take better care of herself.
