Dr Banana – The Foreboding. German Filmschool, Babelsberg Filmschool. Our approach was to create a full cg short that had the aesthetics of a handmade stopmotion like movie. Lot’s of depth and details where used (like fingerprints on the figures).

Dealing with the pre and postjump sequence, the job involved a complete overhaul on the vegetation and environment. Star Trek – Into Darkness. The HQ attack sequence required a lot of work in every aspect, and required some custom tools to manage the scenes. This show required a huge effort to recreate the Williamsbridge in New York including hundreds of cars at night. Red Tails involved a high amount digital cockpits and some flyby and dogfight sequences. ILM was the client.

The shots on 2012 where requesting some damage on cars falling outside of the Antonov transport airplane. We made several blendshapes to reflect the different states of destruction as well as some modelling adjustments to match the digital assets as close as possible.

3dsmax and Vray 3.0. For this project i joined Storz&Escherich to help with the background asset, adding detail, as well as figuring out how to render some tricky shots in a short time (like the front light closeup). I also added some scripts and some settings to improve the pipeline. It was also a challenge to adapt and figure out all the new and different settings for Vray 3.0, i found some loopholes and traps 🙂. Rendered in Vray 3.0 and 3dsMax. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. A quick comercial, showing some surface transformation from a small car to formula1 racer. The job was to animate and render one shot right from the start just with an idea of how this may look like in the end. For this task i did a simple script to speed up the process of animating symetrical parts quick, and being able to adapt quickly to changes without the need to change too many curves. This was needed due to the fact that 3dsmax offers no tool to mirror any anim curve precisely.
