Margaret's Grand Adventures in Deutschland. Tuesday, July 28, 2015. In which there are even more of those boring dramatic vistas (Austria part IV). The following day was devoted to r&r with b&b (book&balcony), as it was vacation, after all. And in order to prepare for the exhausting act of turning pages, chocolate chip banana pancakes were an order. The valley hosted a terrific cloud show that evening. Which ended with a cartoony interpretation of the Witch-king of Angmar. Reaching out his ghostly hand.

Margaret's Grand Adventures in Deutschland. Thursday, July 31, 2014. In which the road takes us south and to centuries ago (Ireland part V). The next bout of adventuring took us south to Killarney and Surroundings, where there was no ocean, but oodles of lakeage galore. We poked around downtown for a bit, but nothing really took my breath away. It looked like most other Irish towns I'd been to thus far, though bigger and more touristy. (Dublin aside.). But decided not to go inside. It was hot and almo...

One of the biggest positives of living on in the top corner of a large building is the delicious array of cloudscapes that come awafting by everyday. Margaret's Grand Adventures in Deutschland. Thursday, November 27, 2014. In which we fly thousands of miles to an enchanted place (New Mexico part I). The arrival in Newark got very American very quickly, as exemplified here:. We had some time to wander around and gape at things before the next schlepp to Denver, and the culture shock set in quickly, sometimes resulting in a chuckle and shake of the head, sometimes in confusion and a great echoing "whyyy? Flew out of Denver at moonrise and landed in Albu...

The next detour was to the tourist town of Zell am See, which is known for its picturesque mountain reflections. Looked about like it did in the pictures, with the addition of fluffy little water fowl:. The scenery was simply magnificent, particularly winding through the Gerlos Pass. Picnic and other provisions packed, we headed south and then wound our way up the Tuxer ...

Margaret's Grand Adventures in Deutschland. Tuesday, April 21, 2015. In which Easter is a stroll and a Zuckerbombe. Previously, in Hamburg's northern realm:. Though the air was still smoky from the smouldering remains of bonfires, Easter Sunday came about with bright sunshine and good feelings for all. How appropriate then for a walk in FeelGoodVillage on the northern edge of the city. See, the non-translated name is Wohldorf. Which also look pretty snazzy in black and white.). The village itself is quit...

Margaret's Grand Adventures in Deutschland. Tuesday, August 19, 2014. In which we unload the summer. Let's kick things off with a bang, eh? The "unweather" (what the Germans like to call storms sometimes) caused an hour delay before the main act took the stage, being Mr. G. Porter. Didn't get to play until after midnight, but they made it worth while for all those brave and stubborn souls that stuck around. Next, remember that time when Germany won the World Cup? Moving along, let's just go for a stroll&...
