Who or what was chasing me? December 21, 2015. December 21, 2015. A blinding light surged into my eyes. My chest heaved as I ran through the field. Shooting my head behind me, I kept stumbling forward, crawling and heaving for breath. It was coming right behind me. A dark shadow reflected off every spindly blade of wheat. But there was no one there. No attacker. No object that hit me. Gone. The light was gone and the humming sound disappeared. I was alone. Right? I don’t even know where safe is anymore.
