Friday, January 27, 2006. Around the palatable world in thirty days. Time for some major updates. These will be some quick entries that are way over due. I have been to some awesome (well, there was that one bad one) restaurants lately and need to give a shout out. Here we go:. 1 Let’s start with the bad. The Green Parrot. And my friend retorted No, actually it wasn’t hot. Then he said We even gave you the birthday cake for free. (Since when do restaurants charge for birthday cake? Oh, and the ambience s...

Sunday, October 23, 2005. NEW Ho Tay Restaurant. I brought home a PC laptop from work, and right now I should be working with some eye-straining Excell spreadsheets and be making pretty graphs that really show nothing, but there is a much overdue blog entry. Et-hem. Anyway, on to the food. The only other place I have had this dish was at Brodard. Hm, how do I compare them? I'll probably go back and have to try more of the menu next time. If you want to try it you can go to:. New Ho Tay Restaurant.

Tuesday, December 06, 2005. Wow, that's a big Buddha.". Disclaimer: This is bad food bloggin.’ I drank a lot of unfiltered sake, and there was uhm, quite a ruckus at the table for most of the night I should have taken notes. At night Ten Asian Bistro turns into Tentation, a dance club. We didn’t stay for that. Although I should also note that it’s next to Panini same oweners. (Note: Must check out Panini sometime soon! Before I go any further, you have to go look at the virtual tour! 2 The Kung Pao Chick...

A Blow to the Head: September 2005
http://ablowtothehead.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
A Blow to the Head. Some written things about food, some of which are about food. Thursday, September 08, 2005. Gave me this assignment like weeks ago, and thought that working on it might, I don't know, make me sleepy or relaxed or something. The assignment was to list five foods that remind me of childhood, or of being a kid- and if you can find a difference between those, you've taken too many improv classes. So here goes. And I'm going to do this with a minimum of weepy explanation:. 7 Salmon patties...

Monday, November 28, 2005. The St. James in Palm Springs. First off, sorry, I didn't have my camera. I was driving down the main drag of Palm Springs, salivating, looking at all the yummy restaurants that I would get to experience that weekend and I suddenly remembered-that-I-forgot-it. So. We have little pictures from the St. James website. Just think of the pictures as tapas.). Big, juicy dates. Y-u-m. Enough said! I ordered the duck for dinner. Now, this is where I might cause a little ruckus. So "on ...

Wednesday, February 08, 2006. Guest blogger rates Napa Rose! Just wanted to share with you my experience at Napa Rose last night. Although Stephanie said the wine pairing was actually quite good, we both agreed that the food was a bit lackluster for the price and for how the restaurant is touted as high-end for Napa Valley cuisine. She said she's had better experiences/meals on other occasions with her class and instructors when they dine out like this. The menu was something like this:. A blog documenti...

Saturday, September 17, 2005. Live from Austin, TX. So, should I review places that DON'T totally rock my palette? Lets try it. Guerro's Taco Bar, Austin, TX. Ok, actually, let me take that back- no it didn't "totally rock my palette" BUT there was a lot of things going for this busy, festive restaurant located on bustling Congress Street. Our real estate agent recommended it. Clientele? A pico de gallo-like salsa, and (drum roll, please) the very best tomatillo salsa I have had in my life. Fresh tom...
