Meandering Molly

Friday, May 8, 2009. Peru is a beautiful, ancient, magical country! The people there are kind and generous while at the same time they seem to possess a mysterious, dignified quality that sets them apart and makes them slightly unreachable to the outsider. I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to live there and explore their amazing history and work with some of their children! I hope I get to go back to Peru! Now I have several excuses to go back to Europe! It was hard to say good bye to them. I had...

Meandering Molly: Uros Islands

http://meandering-molly.blogspot.com/2009/05/uros-islands.html

Monday, May 4, 2009. Wednesday I took a tour of Lake Titicaca. They picked us all up at our hotels and hostels and then took us to the harbor. There we boarded a boat and set off into the lake! It was chilly on the boat, but there was a clear blue sky and a bright sun that made the lake sparkle! I realize this is a sort of random tangent, but it is what I found myself contemplating while I walked around the tiny island. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Meandering Molly: Isla del Sol

http://meandering-molly.blogspot.com/2009/05/isla-del-sol.html

Friday, May 8, 2009. Nave left me at the ruins because I wanted to follow the trail to the northern end of the island, but he said he would meet me there and finish his tour. The walk took about two and a half hours. It was so pretty (picture #3)! On the way back to Copacabana we stopped at some of the Bolivian floating islands. These were without a doubt solely meant for tourism. The people did not really live on them. They looked fake. I didn't bother to get off the boat. We got to Cusco incredibly ear...

Meandering Molly: Adios to All

http://meandering-molly.blogspot.com/2009/05/adios-to-all.html

Friday, May 8, 2009. It was hard to say good bye to them. I had been living with them for the past three months and had grown so accustomed to it, it was weird to think of never waking up in their house again and not seeing them on a regular basis and not eating Rosa's good food. But they said whenever I wanted to I could come back, so perhaps I will. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Meandering Molly: August 2008

http://meandering-molly.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, August 31, 2008. Gran Gala de Ballet. Paloma Herrera was the prima ballerina. She was born in Buenos Aires, but is now a member of the American Ballet Theatre. She and Guillaume Cote, a Canadian ballet dancer, were the guest stars. Lauren said he was especially good because he had "gorgeous" leg extensions and could jump really high. I was impressed with them all! I think I would see another ballet, I'm glad we went! Argentina is mostly Catholic, so Catholic services it will be for a while! I add...

Meandering Molly: November 2008

http://meandering-molly.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

Saturday, November 29, 2008. I asked Em to record her impressions and thoughts about Buenos Aires:. I will miss the salty snacks (if any bar owners reading this - invest, a great fad you could cash in on) and liters of beer. Awesome! I have also had a Tango lesson and danced in a dirty hippy mosh pit at La Bomba. Most likely, if you are reading this, you also know all of the things we have been doing in my time in Buenos Aires. I will miss all the fun- most of all, I will miss Molly! And "fugazzeta" to t...

..................Meandering Mea

In my dotage, I have decided to spend time wandering. Wednesday, May 6, 2009. About 5 years ago Phil visited the town of Russell in the Bay of Islands. With the help of local residents and new friends, he settled. One day he found the derelict KimiMoana, beached and half sunken. Being a gentle soul, he took pity on her, and, with the help of the redoubtable Butch, she became his true love. To her aid came a yacht built by Kimi's builder and she was towed off the sand into deep water. Mark has gone awande...

Meandering Minds

In this life we cannot do great things. We can only do small things with great love. - Mother Teresa. Thursday, May 07, 2015. Elsa loves art, and I think it is rubbing off on her little sister. Avie has been "writing" a lot recently, on any scrap piece of paper she can get her hands on. But just last weekend, she started drawing her first recognizable people. I remember when Elsa's people looked almost exactly like this. Links to this post. Tuesday, May 05, 2015. Aveline, the Comedian. Links to this post.

Meandering Stream

A diary. to vent out some thoughts, an account. of escapades not neccessarily daring,. And a perspective. of how I see things. Tuesday, August 18, 2015. The blogger app doesn't work well on mobile, and it's annoying to add photo captions and wiki links and so on. So I'll update the posts with better pics (non cell phone quality) when I get back. I'm in Riga now, and soon heading to Rezeknes in eastern Latvia. We'll be in the middle of nowhere, so wish us luck. Links to this post. We heard the most Russia...
