Meandering Along A Bush Path

Meandering Along A Bush Path. Saturday, 15 August 2015. Hints of Spring and Madness. From my trials yesterday I got to thinking about colours and came up with this, this morning. Yes Spring Madness is definitely on its way. I have a solid board and have padded it with old blankets, then covered it in calico. If I do more of these I may have to consider making up a smaller board for ease of using in small areas. Pin fabric over top and pin it to stop from moving. Carefully add other colours. With designs ...

Meandering Along A Bush Path: Making your own Stamps or Rubbings

http://www.meanderingalongabushpath.blogspot.com/2015/08/making-your-own-stamps-or-rubbings.html

Meandering Along A Bush Path. Friday, 14 August 2015. Making your own Stamps or Rubbings. One of my favourite places to go when the craft fairs are on is the 'Twiddily Bits' (not sure what it is called) where they sell all these incredible pieces that you turn into beautiful pictures etc. But for me it is a haven for shapes that I can turn into stencils, stamps or rubbing plates. This is how I use them as stamps and rubbings. I also get those stickers you buy for cards and scrapbooking. I am disorganized...

Meandering Along A Bush Path. Tuesday, 29 July 2014. Learning patience, and computer skills. The one thing I knew for sure was that I had to learn how to put pictures on my blog, or everyone would get sick of my posting so many times a day on Facebook. This way I can just mention an idea and direct them here if they are interested. And low and behold, it worked! Saturday, 26 July 2014. Downsizing, how much 'stuff' do we really need? So how 'stuff' do we really need? Well I am about to find out, and it is...

Meandering Along A Bush Path: Making your own stamps with bits and pieces around the house or cheap #1

http://www.meanderingalongabushpath.blogspot.com/2014/12/making-your-own-stamps-with-bits-and.html

Meandering Along A Bush Path. Thursday, 11 December 2014. Making your own stamps with bits and pieces around the house or cheap #1. Here are a few ideas to get you started on making your own stamps with your own designs. I go to the back of electrical appliance stores and they have sheets of white foam just being thrown out. Also large sheets of cardboard, either as boxes or the sheets protecting screens etc. I grab these, some pva glue and scissors and am ready to go. This is just a set of wavy lines dr...

Meandering Along A Bush Path: Making Your Own stencils

http://www.meanderingalongabushpath.blogspot.com/2015/08/making-your-own-stencils.html

Meandering Along A Bush Path. Friday, 14 August 2015. Making Your Own stencils. L use thin cardboard that is A4 size. This gives the solid base that is needed for the stencils. I have a large floor tile I use for cutting on. Using a sharp cutting tool carefully cut around the design, rotating the cardboard as much as possible, instead if the cutter. The cardboard is easier to move because the contact is on both sides as slides easier. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Meandering Along A Bush Path: June 2015

http://www.meanderingalongabushpath.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Meandering Along A Bush Path. Sunday, 28 June 2015. It has been quite awhile since I did a post. Moving and falls have kept me busy - or not busy - in the last few months. I am slowly coming back into letting my creative muse have some fun. I haven't made the time to sit down with my dye book and work out smaller measurements of dye as yet but I wanted to play with lace and the different fabric pencils etc I had so here are the results. I hope to try other ways to colour lace and will keep you updated.

Yet another moderately insane mildly neurotic stay-at-home blogger plugging self sufficiency and waiting for the Zombie Apocalypse. Friday, 28 March 2014. Stephanie's Block - The Burgundy Mermaid. Well, this one was, without a doubt, the most complex and fiddly one I have done for a long time, but I do like the final result. Let me introduce you to the Burgundy Mermaid. My vision for this one was a mermaid pulling at a fisherman's net, so the first thing I did was sketch it out. Finally, the hair was add...

Yet another moderately insane mildly neurotic stay-at-home blogger plugging self sufficiency and waiting for the Zombie Apocalypse. Saturday, 17 May 2014. It is FER-EEZING today! It is cold enough to see your breath INSIDE the house! 9am, and there is still a solid sheet of ice across the birdbath! We normally have to be deep, deep into winter to get that! Yet another moderately insane mildly neurotic stay-at-home blogger plugging self sufficiency and waiting for the Zombie Apocalypse. Tuesday, 25 February 2014. OK, Where's The Reset Button! Well, life has a way of throwing things at one, doesn't it. I have managed to get a second hand one, but I still have to pay for it. Fortunately I still have my little hand washing thingy, and it is only a 20 minute walk to the Laundromat for the big things (I don't own a car). Image from Housework Under Capitalism.

Yet another moderately insane mildly neurotic stay-at-home blogger plugging self sufficiency and waiting for the Zombie Apocalypse. Tuesday, 17 December 2013. Caring For Vintage Laces. The response to the lace posts has been wonderful, with lots of lovely feedback and questions, mostly by email. One of the questions I have been asked a lot over the years in my dealing with vintage and antique clothes, costuming, laces, etc., is: how do you wash them? Where I usually use the pure soap method with vintage ...
