Mean Mommy: August 2008
http://meanmommyblog.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 25, 2008. It's been one of those weeks. You know the kind: those weeks when both your house air conditioning AND your car air conditioning break on the same day. And then, even though you tell your husband, "Don't let the HVAC guy bamboozle you into some maintenance contract (cause you wouldn't dream of paying to prevent. Problems, you'd rather just cough up 5 times more after. Things break), you get home and your husband tells you he had. That kind of week. But In the midst of all my whin...

Mean Mommy: May 2008
http://meanmommyblog.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 26, 2008. I heard this yesterday on A Prairie Home Companion, read by Garrison Keillor, who also wrote the poem. I don't listen to PHC much, but as a kid I loved the Tales from Lake Wobegone. We’re here to honor those who went to war. Who did not wish to die, but did die, grievously,. In eighteen sixty-one and in two-thousand four. Though they were peaceable as you or me. Young and innocent, they knew nothing of horror—. Singers and athletes, and all in all well-bred. Tuesday, November 25, 2008. You are my favorite because. Another birthday (erm, only a couple of weeks ago.or so.), another favorite. Post (which I've been working on for a week! Owen, you are my favorite because. You can't stop giving Mitch your birthday money. Every time you spend a little of it, you hand some over to him because you can't stand to see him disappointed. Your enthusiasm for maps and geography facts has made me an expert on capital cities, both in the U.S. and abroad. Snowball, I can't b...

This Teaching Life: February 2009
http://triangleteacher.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 22, 2009. You Have Died of Dysentery. It amazes me that in my lifetime children have gone from playing The Oregon Trail on their computer, if they even had one, to preschool children doing this:. If this is what children are capable of doing when they are only four years old, how can I tailor my instruction in my Kindergarten classroom to teach the 21st Century Learner? I'd love to hear how others are using technology in their classrooms. Sunday, February 8, 2009. T: I don't know. Later ...

And then, right. his test. Point is this can take hours and for some like "Johnny" it took SIX for four days. Oh and guess what? We have re-tests this week. Leaves me feeling like leaving you with this little song:. Tuesday, May 6, 2008. Romeo Romeo, Where For Art Thou Romeo? M: Are you married?

Sunday, April 19, 2009. Partnerships: Connecting School and Home. The state or condition of being a partner; participation; association; joint interest. To foster a climate of instructional excellence, individual growth, and community partnerships. I wasn't aware of how much, despite how often I involve parents, I was neglecting a huge portion of my students' literacy development by simply not asking the right questions when talking to their caregivers. I agree with your post! I watched the video on scho...

Thursday, April 2, 2009. As you go about your day today remember that today is World Autism Awareness Day. Last April I was asked to join a group of bloggers that devoted their entire month to blogging about Autism. It was wonderful to be linked to so many people, share stories, provide support, and most importantly develop a better understanding of what autism is and how I, a regular education teacher, can help. Monday, November 26, 2007. I Guess I'm a Mean Teacher? I have something horrible to admit. I feel smug when a child in my class begins to cry because they have disappointed me. There, I said it. and now let me explain:. Its when they begin to NOT please me anymore that we have an issue. A part of me felt bad, but then this other feeling crept over me. I was really quiet smug that this little guy felt so bad and it was because he had disappointed me. Sunday, November 18, 2007. Saturday, November 17, 2007.

How to become the grownup in your own life. Thursday, September 3, 2009. Who is the center of your family? My friend Rachel clued me into this article. All I see are adorable kids, so who's in control? Make sure you as parents are the center of the family, that not everything revolves around every kid's activity, every hour of the day. Make sure you are in control of your family. Your kids will be more independent as a result, and they will thank you for it. Monday, April 6, 2009. Friday, March 20, 2009.

Mean Mommy No More
Mean Mommy No More. Friday, October 23, 2009. I market a product for someone who doesn’t have enough energy to keep up with their kids like I did. Before I started using the product, I was someone who didn’t want to do anything but sit on the sofa after work. I had no energy to play with my 1 year old. On top of that I was about 20 lbs. heavier than my highest pregnancy weight. I’d tried eating right and exercising in the past, but it never made a difference in how I felt. A Mom that Finally Found Energy.
