I promise I’m not weird. Eat what's around you! Where does your food come from? One of the first blogs I came across when I started this adventure into local meat land was meatblogger.org. Professor Chris Raines of Pennsylvania State University’s Meat Science department writes on a variety of topics, but I particularly enjoyed an article he wrote recently about A Recent Farming and Food Perspective. In my previous blogs I have talked about ear tagging for herd identification – in between waiting on the vet and hauling cattle to the main farm I had a stack of ear tags to make for the cows that had lost their tag so we could put a new one in while we had them in the chute.
