http://mebdev.blogspot.com/2012/10/haskell-exchange-at-skills-matter-10-oct.html
Programming blog - about me. Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Haskell Exchange at Skills Matter 10 Oct. I'm going to be at the Haskell eXchange. At Skills Matter on 10 Oct. If you've been following my github (or my meetup groups), you'll know that I've been learning Haskell. Thus far, I haven't written anything to take advantage of it's type system, but I'm already getting excited at the possibilities. I'm really looking forward to learning more and meeting folks at the one-day conference!

Programming blog - about me. Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Metaclasses, first class objects, and a lesson from SICP. This week my SICP Study Group. Part of my job includes writing data-entry applications so that other team members can interact with my statistical models. I write these applications in Python, using a library called web.py. In this library, we can assign to each web request URI a. It's something we haven't seen before in our study group! But I hope it'll suffice to say this:. Webpy will loo...

Programming blog - about me. Saturday, June 12, 2010. Ouray – The Facebook Connect LaTeX editor Chat Room. Just set the “perms” field in the FBML, like so:. Fb:login-button perms="email" v="2" size="medium" Connect /fb:login-button. Well, this is where the trouble starts. First, I was using the old PHP API library, and I wanted to ensure I was using the latest code. Second, as a result, I needed to look up documentation for the new API, and it was a bit fragmented. If (response.session) {. Args = array();.

mebassett programming: August 2010
http://mebdev.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Programming blog - about me. Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Learning to build great software. Whenever I build a new piece of software, I'm nearly always torn in two. One half of me, the side that got me to start work in the first place, says things like "this is great! This app will change the world! Everyone will want to use it, you just need to get the word out! Pick up the phone and call your ideal users. I must say: it was really depressing work. But I think I've been able to decide if Sneffel is worth...

Programming blog - about me. Wednesday, January 12, 2011. An idea for a new web app. I often have ideas for new web apps (though I'm thinking more about the iPad every day, I think I want one.) and I like to jot them down. But I remembered I haven't updated this blog in awhile, so I thought I could store them here. Right, back to the maths. Hopefully I'll get a chance to write about my adventures in Racket, Python, HTML5, and iPad apps soon! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Programming blog - about me. Tuesday, October 23, 2012. Talk in Dublin: Adventures in Functional Big Data. I had an opprotunity to speak at the IE group's Big Data Innovation Summit. How Data Sciences drives non-technology companies to make some cutting-edge technology decisions. Functional programming (when combined with research experience and core business knowledge) can extract value from big data and resolve the technical challenges by turning the data into an interactive model. Hi everyone. I'm...
