Brian's Damn Puzzle Blog. A chronicle of my descent into the realm of the puzzle-obsessed. October 2, 2014. Stickman #5 (Borg Box). I have long been an admirer of Stickman #5 (Borg Box). An amazing design by Robert Yarger: I finally had a chance to try it out at the 2011 RPP. This seemed to me like an excellent candidate for 3D printing since no glue-up is required, plus I wanted a copy and it goes for a pretty penny at auction! Read the end for details.). So I went and ordered a copy from Shapeways and ...

Brian's Damn Puzzle Blog. A chronicle of my descent into the realm of the puzzle-obsessed. March 29, 2012. Well I finally ended up purchasing this puzzle from Wil Strijbos at NYPP! I had heard a lot about it since Wil was keeping track of who had solved it and sending regular updates to the NOBNET email list. Plenty has been written about it ( Allard's Puzzling Times. Oli's Mechanical Puzzle Blog. And Jerry's Small Puzzle Collection. But I tried not to read too closely for fear of getting accidental hints.

Brian's Damn Puzzle Blog. A chronicle of my descent into the realm of the puzzle-obsessed. September 30, 2011. Little Game Hunter Puzzle Box. I recently acquired the latest box by Robert "Stickman" Yarger: Little Game Hunter Puzzle Box (Stickman #24). When the package arrived, I noticed the cute little detail that each...

Brian's Damn Puzzle Blog. A chronicle of my descent into the realm of the puzzle-obsessed. December 20, 2011. In the most recent update on Cubic Dissection. I purchased a new box by Eric Fuller named Havana's Box #1: The Chris. It is the first in a series of boxes, each designed to hold a cigar. It is named after Eric's local cigar bar, Havana Deluxe. This box is nicely crafted out of quartersawn. Inside, which seems appropriate! The locking mechanism is neat, and it takes a bit of fiddling to fully unde...

This is the Medallion puzzle, invented by the puzzle genius Oscar van Deventer and brought to me by Puzzlemaster. Thanks Puzzlemaster for sending me this puzzle free for review. I think it just looks brilliant with the Gold &. Silver anodized plates and it's medal shape! All in all another great Oscar design with excellent Hanayama quality - for my two cents, when those meet together, y...

Not every puzzle is intended to be solved. Some are in place to test your limits". Thursday, 2 July 2015. Like usually with Robrecht's puzzles, the goal is to free the euro coin. And Robrecht's puzzles are the only ones with which you earn money when you solve them! Ok, I know, you will say that you have to spend some money before to get it. but still). To do that, you need to pull and push the antennas while rotating the 2 disks that are under the acrylic. And when you align both lines (like above), the...

This is a pretty easy puzzle (does not mean not good! Which goal is to free the metal ring. To do that you have to go through the different faces of the cube, rotating at the same time the ring. I tend to say that solving it is easier than reassembling it, what do you think? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Not every puzzle is intended to be solved. Some are in place to test your limits". Thursday, 4 June 2015. This puzzle belongs to the cast series of Hanayama's puzzles and is ranked as 5/6. This puzzle is quite original because there are many pieces, not 2, not 3 but 5! And the pieces look all identical. The puzzle is pleasant to handle due to its shape and is very strong. You cannot damage it easily, luckily. To conclude, this puzzle is a must-have in your puzzle collection. You may also like. If you are...
