As a ghost town on Sundays because none of the stores on Saratoga Ave. were ever open. There were a lot of mom and pop shops in Mechanicville; Zurlo’s, Central Market, and my Great Uncle Joe’s store. My dad’s uncle made soda in his store with flavors such as sasperilla, grape, and black cherry. All the stores were located on Saratoga Avenue.
