Our house in Mecina Bombaron is a large, spacious, old-fashioned village house in the 'Barrio Alto' (upper section) of this rural village. When you enter via the main door, you come into a hallway with stairs leading upwards. The walking around Mecina is excellent, with both low-level easy walks and strenuous high-level walks available. From the Plaza Vieja (100m from the house), the GR7 long-distance path heads off towards Berchules, the next village. This is a fairly straightforward walk, taking about 1½-2 hours. In the heat of the summer it is nice to leave early, walk to Berchules, have breakfast there, and walk back. Further afield, some of the best walks start and finish at Trevelez, which is 30 minutes away by car....

Była to wieś rycerska należąca w szesnastym i siedemnastym wieku do znanej w całej Sądecczyźnie rodziny Krzeszów - zagorzałych propagatorów arianizmu. Męcina to dobrze zagospodarowana wieś leżąca w dolinie rzeki Smolnik. Położona jest na wysokości od 340 do 400 m n.pm Człowiek w tych stronach żył już w epoce neolitu, o czym świadczą znaleziska archeologiczne. Legendy związane z Męciną.
