We are currently at home and NOT plotting our next trip. Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Beijing - Part Two. We found Beijing transportation to be much improved. Here's a portion of the 2nd Ring Road with bus stops on both sides. Also, Metro Line 2 circles around underneath the 2nd Ring Road. Lots of options. Metro Line 2 quickly became a favorite. Not to mention the bike lanes. ;-). We met up twice with our friend Jin Yi to visit the trendy revitalized warehouses of the 798 Art Zone. And then the Capital Museum.

We are currently at home and NOT plotting our next trip. Saturday, February 28, 2015. Up the Malay Penisula. Our connecting bus ferry ride is smooth and then Train 36 pulls out on time from Butterworth Station at 2pm with expected arrival in Bangkok the next morning at 11:40 am but we will alight at Nakhon Pathom at 9:30 am. This is the seat configuration before they are turned into sleeping berths. No dining car, no problem. We use our electric kettle to boil water and it's instant noodles for dinner.

We are currently at home and NOT plotting our next trip. Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Tianjin - Part Two. Our Beijing friend Jin Yi who is from Tianjin joined us for a day of sightseeing. Our first stop was the Tianjin Museum which was well worth a visit. The section on the history of the city of Tianjin was extensive, informative, and with good English signage. Other exhibits like the Gems of the Silk Road. Below) lacked English signage. The docents giving free tours were enthusiastic. Tuesday, May 26, 2015.

We are currently at home and NOT plotting our next trip. Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Hangzhou Hiking - Part Five. Wednesday morning we rode bus #115 to downtown Hangzhou, checked out some historic architecture, then proceeded to circumnavigate West Lake on foot, lingering into sunset and early evening lights. Lunch at Hangzhou's most famous noodle restaurant. The old Post Office building. The promenades and walking paths around West Lake were crowded but only jammed. And the lights come on around the lake.
