Thursday, 31 March 2011. The Digital Economy Act 2010 is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom regulating digital media. Introduced by Lord Peter Mandelson, it received Royal Assent on 8 April 2010, and came into force on 8 June 2010. Under the act you will get 3 written warning letters about your internet download use. After 3 letters the internet at your address will either be slowed down or turned off for a period of time.
