Application Process (Week Event). Students have the opportunity to apply online for placement on a varied week programme in hospitals in Edinburgh and The Lothians. Over the course of the week students are given the opportunity to sit in on consultations, go to theatre and are exposed to a wide range of specialities and levels of clinicians. Medic Insight has been set up to provide school students in their fourth and fifth years of study the opportunity to gain an experience into the life of a doctor and what to expect when you join this profession. We run the following programmes;. Medic Insight Week Edinburgh. A week long programme run in June that is open to all school students who have just finished their higher examinations.
