The castle was eventually presented by Elizabeth I, to Robert Dudley, who fashioned the castle into a Renaissance masterpiece, designed to impress the Queen on her tour of the Kingdom. Kenilworth now boasts a lovingly restored Elizabethan Garden, based on contemporary sources. This stunning architectural gem was dismantled in 1650 but much of the developments over the periods can still be seen and appreciated.
