Rummage in the Badlands. Held in conjunction with Belfield, Beach and Wibaux the Rummage in the Badlands is a day for city-wide rummage sales. Enjoy a beautiful drive through the Badlands as you travel between towns searching for treasurers. Typically held the second Saturday in September. All Horse Flag Day Parade. The Annual All-Horse Flag Day Parade is scheduled every year on June 14th, in Medora. The event is sponsored by the Medora Chamber of Commerce and begins at 5:00 pm. The Medora Riding Stables carry flags representing all the armed forces along with the POW/MIA flag, the United States flag, and the North Dakota flag. In addition, numerous saddle clubs and ranch riders are join the parade. During the parade all riders will be announced as they pass the Rough Riders Hotel.

Medora’s annual Hunter's Feed is held each November on the opening day of deer season and takes place at the Medora Community Center. The feed is an opportunity for hunters, guests and friends from across the state to get together and share hunting tales and strategies for future hunts while trying numerous game dishes that will be prepared for the event. The event includes a raffle, silent auction, and many drawings for numerous door prizes that will be given away that night.

Medora was founded in 1883 by a French nobleman who was married to a New York heiress. The Marquis de Mores named the townsite after his wife, Medora van Hoffman. The Marquis tried various different business schemes but was forced to admit defeat and left the area four years later. The area was also the home of Theodore Roosevelt in the 1880s and the town profits from its proximity to the national park named after him and the surrounding Badlands area.
