The Beat of a Different Fummer. Different Fummer, RN. A shiny new graduate nurse embarking upon her second career while navigating the insanity that is healthcare in America. Well, it's October. Thank goodness. As previously mentioned, September is historically a bad month. I don't know why September out of the other 11 months is usually the bad one but it is. Sigh. The colors look really pink online but I assure you we have not picked anything even remotely pink. We ordered a beautiful sectional sofa.

Also, hiring managers come right out and tell you they won't hire you if you came from a SNF. But, damn, it feels like being caught between a rock and a hard place. And yet, I'm still jealous. What the hell? This just feels like 2001 all over again. Demoralizing to say the least. Remember the time before cell phones? And then there'...

Thoughts on Memorial Day. That is what I think about on Memorial Day. Not sales at Macy's or trips to the beach. I think about people like my dad and wonder what might have been. Also, the facility name does not lend itself so nicely to switching around letters such that we end up with the Hiami Merald (Hee! I'm excited to do that&#...

That's the reality of my life at the moment. I'm either doing some sort of housework/yardwork/cooking/laundry/etc. or searching for/applying to jobs. It's pretty boring. And, no, there's no news on the job front. Of my classmates who have jobs, half of them took jobs out of state. Like Texas. Sheesh. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

My last day of school is less than one month from today. Good, right? Carry on smartly, I must! Avoid typing in Yoda-speak, I must! Beware the extra credit opportunity.

Mezzomedical: My life exploded.
http://mezzomedical.blogspot.com/2010/10/my-life-exploded.html
Thursday, October 7, 2010. For over a week, I've been debating whether or not I should blog about what has been going on in my life. My first inclination was not to write - after all, who wants to announce to the world (or more accurately, my small pool of readers) about how they've failed? I'm in the emergency department of the hospital where I work, barefoot, lying on a stretcher. Familiar nurses are doing an EKG, putting IVs into my arm, hanging saline. My husband, somewhere. 8220;What did she take?
