United States Marine Lance Corporal Michael Jernigan was attacked with his unit in Iraq in 2004. Michael survived the attack, but as a result lost both of his eyes and is now assisted by his faithful service dog Brittani. Michael is co-founder of Paws for Patriots and works with South Eastern Guide Dogs. What initially began with providing Michael and Brittani free flea and tick medication has grown into into a lasting friendship and the creation of Med Vets Charitable Foundation (non Profit 501 C).
