Idle thoughts of an Idle Fellow. Friday, 3 August 2012. Don't give up on me. I have just realised a whole month has gone by since my last posting. - No excuse but have been preoccupied doing all sorts of bits and bobs. I will get back to semi regular missives very shortly. Meanwhile I thought I would just pass this on to you:. During a recent password audit, it was found that a. Blonde was using the following password:. When asked why she had such a long password, she said. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

HGJ's Blog: Wooden Hats
http://hgjones.blogspot.com/2015/04/wooden-hats.html
Idle thoughts of an Idle Fellow. Wednesday, 22 April 2015. Last Saturday I went to a local turning club in Blackburn (Lancashire), to watch a professional turner giving a demonstration. This particular gentleman was Andrew Hall, known as "The Hat Man". The main thing he turns, quite obviously is hats - well worth a look at his web site - www. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). HGJ's Blog: Returning
http://hgjones.blogspot.com/2015/04/returning.html
Idle thoughts of an Idle Fellow. Tuesday, 14 April 2015. Quite a long time has elapsed since I last posted on this Blog.I feel I should do it more often. I am still turning and carving wood, though not as often as I should, I seem to spend more time reading how I should be carving / turning than actually doing it, and reading other peoples blogs, seeing how they turn and/or carve. The above vase is a natural edge item in Cherry (Prunus avium) It was about 6 inches tall. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

HGJ's Blog: September 2012
http://hgjones.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Idle thoughts of an Idle Fellow. Thursday, 27 September 2012. I keep promising to be more regular with my postings, but here we go again. As well as wood turning, I am starting to dabble in carving with a bit of pyrography thrown in. A carved and burnt house sign for some friends of mine. The wood is Lime (Tilia Spp) The sign is circa 10inches by 8 inches. It's finished in Liberon finishing oil. This is a Beech bowl (Fagus Sylvatica) with a self drawn pyrographed pattern. Just over 4 Inches diameter.

HGJ's Blog: More wood
http://hgjones.blogspot.com/2013/10/more-wood.html
Idle thoughts of an Idle Fellow. Sunday, 20 October 2013. I have been playing with Wood again this week, well for some of the time. The first picture shows a simple small clock face mounted in a piece of scrap Oak (Quercus Robur). The clock face is only about 1.5 inches diameter, and the dark perimeter is actually dark blue. I was going to mount it in a piece of Elm Burr (Ulmus spp) but that particular wood becomes too dark to show off the watch to its best, especially when it is oiled or varnished.

Idle thoughts of an Idle Fellow. Sunday, 22 September 2013. Well, I keep promising to update this blog more frequently.doesn't seem to happen so I will try again. Just returned from holiday in Zakynthos. That is one of the Greek islands in the Aegean Sea. It is just to the south of Kephalonia, which itself is just south of Corfu. We sort of expected slightly cooler weather as well, it being in September.we were wrong on that count, 32 / 33 degrees C most days, but I could get used to that. Semi retired, ...

http://hgjones.blogspot.com/2013/01/happy-new-year.html
Idle thoughts of an Idle Fellow. Saturday, 12 January 2013. Well it has been quite a busy time, The appearances on Emmerdale and Claire Balding's quiz came and went without me getting a call from Steven Spielberg, fame will have to wait. On New Years Eve, Helen, our elder daughter presented us with our second grandson. Daniel Laurence King weighed in at 8lb 1oz, and he has the same haircut as me. Both are doing well, and my pal Thomas is extremely pleased with his little brother. View my complete profile.
