周围景点 七星公园 叠彩山 伏波山 两江四湖普通船 象鼻山 漓江普通船. 靖江王府是全国重点文物保护单位， 位于桂林市中心地带， 现又称桂林王城 墙高门深、气势森然，建于明洪武五年 1372年 ，洪武二十六年 1393 筑城墙。 王城南北纵距557.5米,东西横距336米,占地面积18.7万平方米,城墙高7.92米,厚5.5米。 城门左为宗庙,右为社稷,在主轴线上建有承运门、承运殿、后宫、御园,围绕主体建筑,还建有楼堂厅馆,亭阁轩室,构成一组规模宏大、金碧辉煌的建筑群。 独秀峰矗立城中,峰顶建有玄武阁、观音堂、三官庙、三神祠等,尚有乐山、探奇、瞻云3处,可备凭眺。 清顺治七年 1650 ,明降将孔有德领兵攻克桂林后,封定南王,改靖江王府为定南王府。 顺治九年 1652 农民起义军李定国攻占桂林,孔有德兵败,举火自焚,历时280余年的靖江王府,付之一炬,现仅存城墙、城门及承运门、承运殿的台基、雕栏玉砌和云阶玉陛。 王府建造前, 在独秀峰下, 唐有学宫, 宋有铁牛寺, 元称大圆寺, 后改万寿殿。 1937年为广西省政府所在地, 抗日战争期间被毁, 后重建。
