There are still things about being a parent that I wasn’t prepared for. Like the worry that settles on your shoulders when you realize you are responsible for an actual human, how it feels to be truly exhausted and the pain that comes when your child throws a temper tantrum. I’m going to go get an ice pack.

Tuesday, August 17, 2010. I made a blueberry pie and it is delicious. This is actually the second, and the third is sitting on our counter. Maybe a little obsessed, but there were 5 lb. boxes of them at the store. Obviously a seasonal indulgence. 5 cups fresh blueberries. 1/4 cup corn starch. 1-2 Tbs. fresh lemon juice. Toss the above together and let stand while you make the dough. 2 1/2 cups flour. 1 cup cold butter. Icy water to make it into dough. Links to this post. Labels: original artwork baking.
