Adams. 1 A study that took place in 1982 in New Jersey said that 88 percent of homes with child abuse had animal abuse. 2 In the past few years abusive acts by children have become the subject of scientific research. 3One way to help is to offer intervention. 4 In most states it is a misdemeanor for cruelty to animals. 5People want to change the law from misdemeanor to a felony.
