Into the Heart of Africa. Megan's place to share her stories from Uganda. Monday, December 15, 2008. On Saturday I got out of bed at 10:36 am and, still in my pj’s, wandered into my living room with. A perfect afternoon indeed. You've inspired me to attempt as much this weekend. Maybe I'll actually finish one of the three books that I've started but neglected for months. Into the Heart of Africa. Megan's place to share her stories from Uganda. Friday, September 26, 2008. Well, I finally have some downtime in which to upload some. Photos from this summer. Unfortunately, the downtime came at the expense of my lungs and nose, as I'm battling a cold. But the downtime also means catching up on unread books and watching favorite movies, which isn't such a bad thing. Wednesday, September 17, 2008. I look from them to my mom, who so sweetly says yes, you can have some. Bliss!

Into the Heart of Africa. Megan's place to share her stories from Uganda. Wednesday, May 14, 2008. Thank you to all of you who wished me a happy birthday on Sunday. I was honestly a bit anxious about celebrating my birthday away from my family for the first time, but it turned out to be a day of abundant blessings in spite of my location. After our 30 minute drive, the rest of the afternoon was spent by the biggest swimming pool I've ever seen, at a resort that looked like it could have been in Hawaii.

Winterpast: December 2011

http://winterispast.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

The season of singing has come. Friday, December 2, 2011. I Love You More. Our son entered the world twenty-seven days ago - one rotation of the earth for each of my trips around the sun. He came in wailing, as all of us do, a writhing ball of fury at the cold and the light and the trauma of birth. He is quieter now, asleep against my breast, drawing small, quick, breaths that sound like the opening of a door hung on old hinges. I always say, "I love you," to my mother when we hang up the phone. I've bee...

The season of singing has come. Wednesday, January 19, 2011. Here's twelve things (people and fuzzy animals were saved first) that I would rescue in the event of a fire. What are yours? 1 My rubber stamp that I use to mark things "DONE" in giant red letters. 2 My childhood diaries. 3 The Bible my parents gave me for my thirteenth birthday. 4 The letters my husband and I wrote to each other during our courtship. 5 My laptop (It frightens me to think of how many vital documents I have not backed up.).

The season of singing has come. Tuesday, November 2, 2010. Poems for Jesus: Things Born. 8216;Neath the ice there lies, hidden from my eyes,. A brightness now dormant and dimmed. In the deep, cold ground, far from sight and sound,. Waits a tulip with scarlet brimmed. Never I hear in the wood dead and drear. The life that is raging within. The sap in the bough that flows even now. And promises leaves for the spring. As the old year wanes and the new one gains. But the nights stay long and dark.

Saturday, May 24, 2014. Every day I am torn between giving you space to become independent, competent, strong. and giving you attention to know that you are loved. I can't find the middle ground no matter how hard I try. Or maybe I'm found it and just have no solid confirmation, because in parenting, that's a thing that doesn't exist. When you smile at me from across the room, is it a just a smile? Are you happy there? Or are you trying to entice me to come play with you? Or are you lonely? Lila will be ...
