Monday, September 5, 2016. We have a new Saint! What an exciting day for the Catholic church and the world. I love to read about Mother Teresa. In addition to the obvious reasons to love and admire her, I especially appreciate her gift with words and that we share a birthday. Sometimes its hard to identify with the ancient saints - but to have two modern day saints - Saint John Paul and now Saint Teresa of Calcutta- what a gift to our church! Links to this post. So here I sit, stressing that every free moment should be spent practicing, causing stress in my house because I have to keep little hands away from the borrowed keyboard and I am trying to retrain my fingers to play after THIRTY years. Thursday, February 11, 2016. Of course, one of my favorite companies with their sherbet colors, knock-knock jokes, and item titles full of pun would have rug swatches. My valentine happened to be on a business trip to his Chicago office - which is right next door to the Land of Nod. Boom! A few hours later, he proves his love for me by walking in the door with these 12 inch square beauties:. The navy square one is not the right shade for our gray couch, but the Bar rug on the right- SWOON!

Monday, January 18, 2016. Some random thoughts left over from Christmas. Nordstrom also has a great little cafe with kiddie drinks, that all 4 of my children have loved over the years. Finn just had his first taste of the "Not so Hot Chocolate" and the old school animal cookies. Friday, December 16, 2016. This year's Advent calendar has been so much fun to plan. One of our favorite editions this year is our Christmas memory game from Pinhole Press. Its hard to find activities that are fun for all four of our kids' age groups, but this one has provided lots of family time - which is the whole point of the Advent activities! I had all of the cards face down when we started playing and it was so fun when the first one was turned over and the kids realized that the game was about us!

Thursday, June 30, 2016. This week, my baby turned four! Maybe I should stop calling him my newborn (next year.) He had very specific ideas for his party. My idea was just our family plus grandparents. His plan was his entire class. The compromise was two friends (but in the end one was sick - we missed you Zach!
