The Puppets I Made: About Me and My Puppets

The Puppets I Made. And some other puppet stuff. About Me and My Puppets. My Puppets, But Not My Puppets. About Me and My Puppets. I dabble in puppets. It's part of my job as a children's librarian, but it's the fun, "I-really-get-paid-for-this? Part of the job. My next puppet show was Rumpelstiltskin. Mama and I made the puppet heads out of newspaper papier mache applied to a base made out of cotton ball stuffed nylon knee highs. Mama sewed the costumes. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
The Puppets I Made: Hippie Guy
http://megganspuppets.blogspot.com/2012/01/hippie-guy.html
The Puppets I Made. And some other puppet stuff. About Me and My Puppets. My Puppets, But Not My Puppets. Saturday, January 28, 2012. This hippy guy was never used in a puppet show. He was just a demonstration model for a kids puppet making workshop. But I think he's got a lot of character for being a nobody! Styrofoam ball. This ball happens to be green. Google eyes, glued on the styrofoam head. A piece of red yarn, glued on. Dowel stuck into a piece of fabric, then into the styrofoam head.

The Puppets I Made. And some other puppet stuff. About Me and My Puppets. My Puppets, But Not My Puppets. Tuesday, January 24, 2012. The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Jumpstart's Read for the Record. In 2009 featured the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We decided to present the book in sort of a puppet show in order to draw a larger audience. Necessity is the mother of invention, isn't it? The Puppets I Made: The Annunciation
http://megganspuppets.blogspot.com/2012/01/annunciation.html
The Puppets I Made. And some other puppet stuff. About Me and My Puppets. My Puppets, But Not My Puppets. Tuesday, January 24, 2012. These were made for preschool Sunday school. I wanted to tell the story of the angel Gabriel's visit to Mary. I'm such a last minute person, I had to use the materials I had on hand. I think I whipped these out in one day. The faces were painted with acrylic paint and the eyes were just googly eyes. Mary's hair is yarn - easy to do because of her veil. His wings were tulle ...

This is what I read
This is what I read. This is What I Read. This is What I Want to Read. Wednesday, August 23, 2017. The Motion of Puppets. August 23, 2017. This book was on a horror display in the library. Of course the title and cover art caught my eye. A big slow moving at first, but the story was compelling and as I got further in I couldn't stop. I enjoyed this immensely. It's kind of funny - the chapters dealing with the life of the puppets reminded me of books I used to read as a child - Five Dolls in a House.

I've posted the video and I hope you like it. :). Sunday, June 6, 2010. The Beginning of the End? I do believe Jesus' coming is soon. When? meggan stordahl encaustics
I began experimenting with encaustic painting over a decade ago, it caught me right away. Ive worked with images and mixed media all my life but this art form spoke to me in a different way. Encaustic satisfies the tactile world I tend to live in while using painting as the vehicle, it is just the coolest combination of things I love. Bags available on my Etsy site see links for info.
