Thursday, May 28, 2009. Today Sarah and I went for our very first class of 'Hot Yoga'. For those of you who don't know what this is - it is yoga in a heated room - and I mean heated! I read somewhere that it is 40c in there. Basically you do 90 minutes of yoga in extreme heat - quite the challenge! I had no idea what to expect going in. I was really nervous - scared that I might pass out, or throw up, or god knows what. The instructor was great - he is actually the owner of the studio. Super excited to g...

Tuesday, March 10, 2009. Well kids, I'm at the library. Last week my computer went 'kaput' and now it is having a vacation at my brothers house - I hope it comes back happy and fresh and new and virus free :). I have had so many ideas for blogs lately. it figures it happens when my computer is dead, right? Oh well. I'll have to post them later - I won't right now because they require photos, and I didn't bring the cable for my phone. Keep those seat belts buckled - you'll find out eventually :). Top, fin...
Betty: January 2009
http://meghankraatz.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 18, 2009. Ok, so it's been a while. I have had some complaints about how I haven't updated my blog since the beginning of December. I was struggling with what to write on here, as I have not been feeling particularly inspired as of late. BUT - this week a lovely evening with a good friend and good wine sparked my creative lust (yes I'm calling it lust) and I now have some great ideas that I am excited to pursue. The Musings of Eleanor Magpie: March 2010
http://eleanormagpie.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Things are getting a little out of hand. I've got a few too many projects on the go at once and as a result, little piles of work-in-progress living in various spots around the studio. I think it must be time to get myself a few little bins or baskets, to keep fabrics together and to stop poufy little flower experiments from ending up under my work table. Must be nice to be one of those naturally tidy sorts. =P. Sunday, March 21, 2010. Http:/ www.youtube.com/watch?

The Musings of Eleanor Magpie: An Open Thank You Letter
http://eleanormagpie.blogspot.com/2010/07/open-thank-you-letter.html
Monday, July 26, 2010. An Open Thank You Letter. To My Mystery Mac's Employee,. I knew instantly I had lost the bag. Lugging around books and peaches and homemade jam, I hadn't realized it was gone and I had no idea where I had left it. Nearly midnight, there was nothing to be done for it but to lie there and make new plans for the following day. "Call the grocery store, call the library, call the ice cream shop.". Who would find my bag? Car keys, prescription glasses, really pretty mittens! This morning...

Wednesday, April 14, 2010. The Finds, Again. This weekend, Saturday, April 17th, I'll be in The Finds in downtown Huntsville, demonstrating my techniques and showing my wares. My first meet-the-artist appearance at The Finds went quite well; lots of people wandered in, had a chat and watched me work. So I'm looking forward to this weekend's event. If you're in the area, and haven't seen my work yet, come check it out! Http:/ www.thefinds.com/. Labels: Huntsville Spring Fever Weekend. The Finds, Again.
The Musings of Eleanor Magpie: September 2010
http://eleanormagpie.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 20, 2010. The charger is still in a black hole, but after spending a little time digging up inspiring things on the internet and reading an open, honest letter from a friend I really relate to, I feel filled up with stuff and somewhat desperate to post something. So here we are. Yet despite all that, I do still feel happy. Thank goodness for cats and people you can really talk with. Anybody else feel this way? There's no video, but the song should still play. The Musings of Eleanor Magpie: Tradesies.
http://eleanormagpie.blogspot.com/2010/05/tradesies.html
Tuesday, May 4, 2010. This weekend, I was in Oakville taking part in the Sheridan Alumni Show, part of the school's annual open house. It's a long trip to make (especially by transit) but worth it for many reasons. It's also nice visiting Sheridan itself, which I do with less frequency, but for the same reasons. It's only been three years, but wandering the halls after the show, I was surprised by how many little memories came back; classes I kind of forgot about, things that used to be routine. To study...

Monday, July 27, 2009. Who would have guessed that the smallest show I did all summer would be the best? My mother helped me set up my little booth, which was wet work as the ground was spongey and moist from all the rain the day before. My feet got soaked, but as it didn't rain, that was my only complaint all day long. This is a photo of the resulting painting. He also gave me a print of one of his pieces to take home. They're quite a bit more finished than mine.as I understand it, he kind o...The show ...

Saturday, November 14, 2009. Going Backwards in Time. Post #4. I went to Southampton Ontario with my fam for the first week of August. My family has been going there for years. Since I was a kid we have rented cottages for a week or two during the summer, even if we did miss a summer or two. This year I was able to go for the whole week (yay! I had just finished doing the Master Cleanse so I felt GREAT. It was a week full of fun, sun, and Monopoly Deal. Nothing quite like a swing on a sandy beach. For th...

Friday, April 8, 2011. Wrapping up 1st Year. So, I went out on my last car ride of the semester on Saturday April 2nd with another professor at the University of Windsor, Julie Sando. After going back over the fences and interstate, we got back in the car and headed towards Mexican town to the Hotel Yorba, on Lafayette Boulevard. The hotel was made famous by the White Strips song, Hotel Yorba. From here we were getting ready to leave, but first we decided to stop by Detroit’s abandoned train statio...
