The Notebook: October 2007
http://meghansnotebook.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
Pop Cultural Observations from the Left Coast. Thursday, October 04, 2007. Delurk If You Love Jesus! Ok, so I'm a day late on this. When have I ever been on time for anything? The point is that now is the time to come out of lurking. If you're just stopping by, or if Google- in its infinite wisdom- brought you here by accident, drop a line and tell me something about yourself. Like, what's your favorite Jeopardy category? If you're a regular commenter, post something anyway. I need validation, damnit!
The Notebook: May 2008

Pop Cultural Observations from the Left Coast. Wednesday, May 21, 2008. After watching the season finale of Gossip Girl. On my resurrected TiVo (it lives, yay! And after long and serious consideration I have come to a conclusion: I don't quite get the hype about this show. So why can't I fully get on board with Gossip Girl. I'm not sure if it's due to my advancing age, my evolving taste, or simply the fact that the show is not that good. I'm inclined to think it's probably a combination of all three.
The Notebook: November 2007

Pop Cultural Observations from the Left Coast. Wednesday, November 28, 2007. Back To The Future. So it might just be the non-techie in me talking here, but I just do not get this new Kindle contraption. Apparently, the great appeal of the product is that it's a wireless, hand-held electronic reading device that's approximately as small and lightweight as.wait for it.a book! Books, I might add, are also wireless, hand-held reading devices. Once said, "Some books are so familiar, reading them is like being...
The Notebook: Not Easy Being Green
http://meghansnotebook.blogspot.com/2008/04/not-easy-being-green.html
Pop Cultural Observations from the Left Coast. Wednesday, April 23, 2008. Not Easy Being Green. Yesterday, as I'm sure you are all aware, was Earth Day. Thing Didn't we all think that one magical day we'd be running our cars on french fry grease? It's all a little disconcerting, but it still behooves us to do the best we can. My own efforts at being more green fall into three categories:. Good things I do consciously. Good things I do unconsciously:. Good things I'd like to do but can't. I am so with you...
The Notebook: Sweet Home Chicago
http://meghansnotebook.blogspot.com/2008/06/sweet-home-chicago.html
Pop Cultural Observations from the Left Coast. Wednesday, June 04, 2008. The second trip was to Chicago, which was actually pretty exciting because I grew up just outside of the city and was able to work in some time to spend with my family and friends. I also got to stay in a hotel right downtown for free. But then, of course, there is this. And if I didn't live in Los Angeles, I would not have ended up sitting two rows in front of Screech from Saved By The Bell. Labels: I Love L.A. I grew up in the far...

What went wrong? – Kyle Garret
https://kylegarret.wordpress.com/2008/06/09/what-went-wrong
June 9, 2008. There’s been a lot of discussion lately about what went wrong with the Clinton campaign. Jon Stewart was even kind of enough to put together a montage of pre-primary newscasts where everyone — EVERYONE — proclaimed Hillary the nominee. At one point, polls had her up by as much as 30 points. So now everyone is asking: what went wrong? There’s a fine line between confidence and arrogance and at some point it seemed like Hillary crossed that line. But how? Which makes the cries of gender bias ...
History – Kyle Garret

June 3, 2008. It’s just after 3 PM here in Los Angeles. MSNBC’s coverage of the final two Democratic Primaries has just started. According to their numbers, Obama is just 14 delegates shy of hitting the magic number of 2118. Huffington Post actually has him only 12 short. There are still more superdelegates rolling in. In fact, some people think he might even reach 2118 before the polls close in Montana. There’s a decent chance I might cry. One thought on “ History. June 4, 2008 at 6:55 pm.

Oublié Sur La Carte. 8230;an old sphinx unknown to the careless world / forgotten on the map, and whose ferocious humor / sings not, but to the rays of the setting sun. Best Music of 2007, Part I (Albums 20 through 11). I have to admit: whenever I look over a best-of list that I’ve written myself, I always find myself a little bit disappointed. All these bands are too familiar to me. Where are the surprises for me to discover? Why couldn’t I think of anyone I’ve never heard of? Highlight: Melody Day ].
