This is my pincushion…. Me-Made Maternity Clothes Costs. Creating treats, one stitch at a time. July 10, 2015. July 10, 2015. 2009: Greg’s Austin, TX office closes and he puts in a job transfer for the London Office. 2010-2012: London. After we get pregnant we decide being closer to family would be nice. Transfer to the San Francisco office. Good thing, too. The London office closed months after we left and we would’ve been deported. Ha! 2015- Seattle. Home. Finally. Those are angels singing. drape drape! – Flowercat Designs
https://flowercatdesigns.wordpress.com/2015/05/17/drape-drape
Sewing. Flowers. Cat. May 17, 2015. May 17, 2015. For the big spring fundraiser, we held a fashion show featuring Erdem (whose designs I love – so many amazing florals! I had a lot going on and almost wore a simple black dress, but decided to make something at the very last minute. It was either going to be a myrtle or the v-neck dress from the first Drape Drape book and I’m SO happy I took the second route! But, oh this skirt! I just whipped this up last night,” as if it were nothing. I was shocked at h...

Raspberry Dress – Silk, Lace and Steel
https://silklaceandsteel.wordpress.com/2013/01/27/raspberry-dress
Silk, Lace and Steel. A blog about sewing and my life in Italy. Who said that winter dresses should be in dark colors and with long sleeves? I created my version of Burda 8/2012 133 in bright raspberry wool crepe. This fashion fabric is very elegant, pliable and comfortable to wear. I like everything about it: from small cap sleeves to the gathered skirt. Set-in panels shape a lovely bust and I am wearing a belt with it to give an aditional waist emphasis. Do you like my shoes with Swarovski heels? Oh, w...

Handmade By Heather B: My arch nemesis the bathing suit
http://handmadebyheatherb.blogspot.com/2015/07/my-arch-nemesis-bathing-suit.html
Handmade By Heather B. My arch nemesis the bathing suit. Guysguys. I have to talk about my troubled relationship bathing suits today and it might result in some binge chocolate eating. But we're gonna get through this because it's helpful confess when projects don't go smoothly. Or maybe I just need some absolution over the dumb shit I did while trying to appropriately cover my body for our trip to the coast. What does a teenager with body issues really not want to do? Strip down to a clingy piece of swi...

bennomusik: April 2013
http://bennomusik.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 29, 2013. Every couple years I make Eric a new pair of pajama pants, and this time I convinced him to give me a hand. He's a cook by trade and really enjoys making things, so sewing up a pair of pants is a logical next step, right? It turns out that Eric is a natural at sewing. His seams are so much straighter than my first seams were! We still have a a couple seams, casing, and hems to go, but hopefully we'll finish next weekend. I'm having so much fun sharing my hobby! It was very sunny a...

bennomusik: August 2013
http://bennomusik.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 25, 2013. Last weekend I attended a Bay Area meet up hosted at Vanessa's lovely home. She doesn't have a blog, but if she did it would be a great one - she's SO creative and makes fabulous clothes and all sorts of other things. I had such a great time listening to everyone's updates and seeing some really fantastic creations. The variety, creativity, and skill in this group of women is staggering. Image from Pattern Review. So, now I have a dress form! I decided to use the bodice of Vogue ...

Marion and Zinnia
http://www.misscrayolacreepy.com/2014/12/marion-and-zinnia.html
Have you forgotten me? I haven't posted in weeks, but I'm alive and I've been sewing and knitting and quilting. If you can believe that. Actually, I have a backlog of projects and will try not to bombard you over the next few weeks. Let's talk about my most recent knitting project, Marion. The knitting pattern itself was fine and confusion free (love that), my issues were mostly with yarn choice and my technique. The Drops yarn. Ok, let me clarify: the sleeves weren't difficult, with the exception of sho...

A Gastronome's Closet. New Year, New Scarf →. April 13, 2015. So after I had completely finished this dress, I realized that it is my third dress (in a row! To be green… And, my past two dress posts each were titled after a “lady,” so I could not force myself to interrupt the pattern this time. Wearing this dress truly does make one feel a lady. It is very likely my most extravagant and most prized creation thus far. 6 thoughts on “ Emerald Lady. April 13, 2015 at 7:54 pm. What a BEAUTIFUL dress! I have ...
