The Quilt of Memories. 4th Aug, 2011 at 9:56 AM. I made this quilt (my first ever, and probably last since I had no clue how involved quilting is) a while ago now, but never got around to posting the finished product. It is called. The Quilt of Memories. M K has meaning because after his surgery, when I wrote his name (Mark) for him and asked him to try to copy it, he instead wrote Kirsty. It was the first moment when I realised he still knew who I was. And one of the finished quilt on his hospital bed.

Had a great summer, got to see lots of friends, go to my High school reunion, and spent a lot of time in water in the sun. IVs are quite a thing for me now. My veins can be very difficult to find and very twisty (did you know that although we all have the same veins and arteries they aren't in exactly the same places on everyone? Back Under the Knife with Ms. Nosey Nurse. Jun 2nd, 2010 at 9:58 PM. Yesterday I had what will hopefully be my last surgery for at least a decade- my doc took out the expander from my left side, and put in saline breast implants. One big one on the left, and a smaller one on the right. I managed to get the anesthesiologist who doesn't make me sick. Totally awesome. Do you have a family history? 5 comments Leave a comment. It is strange, after 15 years of always looking the same, and having people come up to me and say, "were you the girl in New York with the purple ends to your hair? I remember YOU" to now have people say, "Wait, THAT was you? I've been having a lot of fun with all my new looks. But now I'm starting to wonder. what do I really want to look like? Help me, quilt nerds! It has been a long time since I've been in quilting mode. I haven't been haunting the shops or buying magazines. I am out of the loop. My cousin adopted a little girl (I think she's almost 2) from Korea a couple of months ago. I keep saying I am going to make a quilt, but I have no time and my back kills me so I can't sit at my machine for long (see my user pic for the cause of both these problems). What counts as a UFO? My local guild is having an Un-Finished Objects Challenge this year: List all your outstanding work, broken down into steps if needed. For each step completed, you get a star. For each increment of 5 stars, you get that % off your next purchase at our host shop. The person with the most stars at the end of the year gets a gift certificate. So I'm wondering, what counts as an Un-Finished Object? Does fabric I bought thinking 'oh, those go nicely together' count? Post a new comment.

10:35 am August 15th, 2010. Muse has hightailed for parts unknown, but I'm not just twiddling my thumbs. Years ago, I gifted my husband with a quilt for our bed. Designed to his taste (gah - one of these days I'll get a pic of the *completed* quilt). But we bought a bigger bed and now the birthday gift is too small. Clearly, that's an excuse to make a new quilt! My mother's father was an amazing man who could, apparently, do anything. I so wish I'd known him - he died when I was a baby. Or Leave a comment.
