Meg Westley: April 2009
http://megwestley.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 3, 2009. The Lure of Fantasy. Why are we so drawn to fantasy? As children we play imaginary games. We read, and we continue to read as adults. Even if we don't read the fantasy genre, most of us read fiction, which is a form of fantasy. We watch movies and plays. We play video, computer and face-to-face role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons. We daydream about becoming a millionaire, a movie star, the president. Why are we so drawn to that which is NOT real? Links to this post.

Meg Westley: Engineers Without Borders: Outside Looking In
http://megwestley.blogspot.com/2010/10/engineers-without-borders-outside.html
Thursday, October 7, 2010. Engineers Without Borders: Outside Looking In. I'm wading in here from a position of relative ignorance. I haven't attended any EWB workshops or seminars. I've explored their website http:/ www.ewb.ca. Perhaps that is part of the key to EWB's power. They don't pontificate. They don't directly attempt to institute change. They don't rush in with solutions to problems or try to supply resources to African communities that they. In the same way that the experience of being immerse...
Meg Westley: Writing Critique Groups
http://megwestley.blogspot.com/2009/12/writing-critique-groups.html
Sunday, December 6, 2009. In my last post, I explored the similarities and differences between designing a D&D adventure and writing a book. My novel Goddess Fire. Is based on a dungeon I created for two high-level players, but it took years to transform the dungeon into a novel. I had a sound grasp of the plot, characters, settings and themes, but I had little real understanding of the craft of writing. I completed my fledgling novel, The Villost Diamond. My writing had improved; the group loved the new...

Christopher Hoare's Novels. The Official Book Blog of Soft Science Fiction/Alternative World Novelist Christopher Hoare. Steam and Stratagem: Roberta and her Father. January 3, 2014. When I started writing the chapters about Roberta Stephenson that became Steam and Stratagem I wanted to ground her in the real world of 19. On its formation in 1847. One could hardly find better father for her story. I have resumed writing my blog called Rustic Realizations at http:/ kester2.wordpress.com/. December 17, 2013.

So much to do, so little time...
So much to do, so little time. It doesn't matter how much time you have in the day, it never seems to be enough.I hope you enjoy reading all my silly rants. :). Monday, October 20, 2014. I have high hopes she'll recover just fine. This was scary though because we've never had a dog get sick like this before. Yosha tore his ACL and his hips went out. Brady had a stroke. But they were both 9 years old. Ruby is 5 at the most. Praying for speedy recoveries for everyone in this house! She likes to be everyone...

Little megan, big everything else. Reading books, developing plays, having strong opinions, and trying to change the world just a little in Washington DC. April 14, 2016. Things Megan Reads: Spring of Books and Happiness Edition, Part III. And the last of the books thus far this year! Jaqueline Woodson is currently the Poetry Foundation’s Young People’s Poet Laureate for a reason. Her characters voices just SING, y’all. I loved From the Notebooks of Melanin Sun. Somewhat at Sea | older, suddenly single, retired and not so wealthy
Older, suddenly single, retired and not so wealthy. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. March 10, 2018. Last post I talked about how when you retire, life can feel bereft of purpose and meaning. Part of the problem is that when one is retired, one has rather a lot of time to mull on such matters. Too much mulling can turn into a downward spiral and possibly the conclusion that one’s life is meaningless, empty, etc. Friends are an enormous help, but most of my friends are busy working so, ...

meg's blog
I've been feeling kind of guilty that i've neglected to keep any kind of record of life these days. i figured that this was an easy alternative to writing in a journal. i don't mind if you read it, but it's more for me than for you. sort of theraputic, too. i like just getting it all out, the good, the bad, and (occasionaly) the ugly! Monday, March 16, 2009. Um, ya. it's been a few. When i have internet access with all my pics, i will be updating this thing again. until then. Posted by megan wetzel.
